Cranberry Orange Scones

Ingredients
For the scones
For the glaze
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
-
In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the cream, egg, and vanilla extract.
-
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
-
Fold in the cranberries and orange zest until evenly distributed.
-
Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches (5cm) apart.
-
Bake the scones for 18-20 minutes, or until they are lightly golden brown on the edges.
-
While the scones are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the confectioners' sugar and orange juice until smooth. If the glaze is too thick, add a little more orange juice. If it's too thin, add a little more confectioners' sugar.
-
Once the scones are out of the oven, allow them to cool for a few minutes before drizzling the glaze over the top. Serve warm and enjoy!
