Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.

  3. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the cream, egg, and vanilla extract.

  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

  5. Fold in the cranberries and orange zest until evenly distributed.

  6. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches (5cm) apart.

  7. Bake the scones for 18-20 minutes, or until they are lightly golden brown on the edges.

  8. While the scones are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the confectioners' sugar and orange juice until smooth. If the glaze is too thick, add a little more orange juice. If it's too thin, add a little more confectioners' sugar.

  9. Once the scones are out of the oven, allow them to cool for a few minutes before drizzling the glaze over the top. Serve warm and enjoy!
