Delicious Dessert Dosa with Coconut Chutney
This dessert dosa is a sweet twist on the traditional savory Indian crepe. Filled with a spiced mixture of ricotta and dates, and served with a creamy coconut chutney, it's the perfect way to end a spicy Indian meal.
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Gradually add the water, stirring until a smooth batter forms.
In a separate bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, dates, cardamom, and cinnamon.
Heat a griddle or large frying pan over medium heat. Melt 1 tablespoon of ghee or butter.
Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the griddle, swirling to spread it into a thin circle.
Drop a spoonful of the ricotta mixture into the center of the dosa.
Fold the dosa in half, pressing gently to seal the edges.
Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining batter and filling.
To make the coconut chutney, mix together the coconut milk, cilantro, grated coconut, cumin, and remaining 1 tablespoon of ghee or butter in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, until heated through.
Serve the dosas hot, with the coconut chutney on the side.
